Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how EntertainTech Solutions LLC collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use the FishCrew app for iPhone and the FishCrew invite pages on blowy.tech.
No catch locations, ever. GPS data is stripped from catch photos on your iPhone before they are uploaded, FishCrew does not ask for location access, and our server has no field for a catch location. The only geography the app asks for is the US state you pick in setup, for size checks: your state, never your spot (section 7).
1. Who we are
FishCrew is operated by EntertainTech Solutions LLC. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@blowy.tech.
2. What FishCrew does
FishCrew is a fishing league for your crew. You photograph a fish on a measuring board, the app reads its length from the scale in the photo, and the catch counts on your crew's weekly table and in your personal log. Board measurements can also appear on the general League table.
3. Catch photos and how they are measured
- What is uploaded. The photos of your catch (the whole fish and a close-up of the tail), the time the photo was taken according to your iPhone, the species if you suggest one, and an attestation from Apple's App Attest service that the upload comes from the real app. A short code is drawn on the photo so that an old photo can't be reused.
- Location removed first. GPS data is stripped from the photos on your iPhone before upload.
- Processing by an AI model. Our server sends the photos to our AI service provider, OpenAI, and, as a configurable alternative provider, Google (Gemini). The model reads the scale and suggests the species; our own code works out the length from those readings. These providers act on our behalf and process the photos only to return the reading to us. We also run an automated safety check on photos, because your crew can see them.
- Be careful what is in the frame. Please photograph the fish and the board. Other people, faces and documents don't belong in a catch photo.
- What we store. The photo, the species, the length, the estimated weight and length category worked out from it, how it was measured (read off the board, points you placed yourself, an estimate, or unverified), whether it was taken offline, and the capture time.
4. What else we keep on our server
The social features and your log run on our server at api2.blowy.tech. Besides your catches, it holds:
- Account identifiers: a random account ID and a public ID, stored with the user identifier from our subscription provider (Apphud). FishCrew does not ask for your email address, phone number or password.
- Your profile: a handle and display name, which the app creates for you to start with, and a profile photo if you add one. Profile photos are re-encoded on our server, which removes embedded metadata.
- Your age answer, as one flag: whether you said you are under 13. The age group you picked is not sent (see section 11).
- Crews and tables: the crews you create or join, each crew's name, rules and time zone, the invites you create, your scores and places, and closed weeks.
- Disputes, blocks and reports: disputes you open or decide, the people you block, and the reports you send or that are sent about you.
- A transfer code, if you make one to move your account to a new phone. We store only a hash of it.
- A basic device record on the server our apps share: the Apphud identifier, your platform, your device's time zone and language, when the app was last active, whether you have an active subscription, and a push notification token. The app registers for a token even if you decline notifications; nothing is shown to you unless you allow them. We use the time zone to avoid notifying you at night. We never receive your payment card details.
- Request logs, which record the calls the app makes to our server, for limits and diagnostics.
5. What other people can see
- Your crew. Members of a crew you are in see your handle, display name, public ID and profile photo, your score and place, and your counted catches: species, length, estimated weight, category, how it was measured, when it was captured, and the catch photo. They can open a dispute on a catch.
- The League. Everyone 13 or older has a profile, so your first catch read off the board puts you on the general League table, visible to everyone using FishCrew: your handle, display name, public ID and profile photo, your score and your best catch, and the capture time if you hold the longest of a species. Catch photos are not shown there. There is currently no setting to stay off this table.
- Anyone with an invite link. Invite links open a web page that needs no account. Anyone who has the link can read the inviter's handle, the crew's name, rules and number of members, the handles, scores and places on this week's table, and the longest fish per species with the handles of whoever caught them. The page shows no display names, photos, profile photos or capture times. Think of an invite link like a group chat link: share it with people you'd share the table with. An invite link stops working after 30 days or 50 uses.
- Photo addresses. Catch photos and profile photos are served from web addresses that don't need a login. Blocking, hiding or reporting stops the app showing a photo, but anyone who already has its address can open it until the file is deleted.
- Catch cards. A card leaves your iPhone only if you choose to share it, through the app you pick.
6. What stays on your iPhone
- The answers from setup: your state and the species you fish for (used for the size check), whether you have a board, and what you'd like to do with a crew. Section 7 covers the setup events analytics receives.
- Your age group.
- Your settings.
This data lives in the app's private container and is removed when you delete the app.
7. Analytics and attribution
- Usage and diagnostics. App events (for example finishing a setup step, starting a measurement, creating a crew, sharing a card, seeing the paywall) and crash and performance diagnostics. Setup events include how you heard about us, the US state you pick, how many species you pick, and your board and crew answers. They do not include your age, photos or catch locations.
- Device identifiers. The Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) is available to these services. The Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) is used only if you allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- IP address. As with any internet service, our server and the providers below see your IP address when the app connects, and providers may estimate a rough region from it. It is not used to place you or your catches on a map.
- Invite pages. The invite page on blowy.tech loads no analytics or advertising scripts. To limit abuse, our server counts lookups per network using a salted hash rather than the raw address, though ordinary web server logs may record an IP address. If you tap the App Store button, the Adjust link records that tap so that the app can open your invite after installing.
- Support. Anything you choose to send us by email.
8. Advertising and App Tracking Transparency
FishCrew does not show ads. We use advertising measurement to understand which campaigns bring people to the app. iOS asks, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether you allow tracking across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, the IDFA is not collected or used to track you. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
9. Third-party services
We use the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy. Only the AI providers receive catch photos.
- Apple — App Store, in-app purchases, App Attest and platform services. apple.com/legal/privacy
- OpenAI and, as a configurable alternative, Google (Gemini) — read catch photos to return the measurement. openai.com/policies/privacy-policy · policies.google.com/privacy
- Apphud — subscription management on top of Apple's in-app purchases. It receives the IDFV, the IDFA if you allow tracking, the push token, the Firebase instance ID, and attribution data from Adjust and Apple Search Ads. apphud.com/privacy
- Adjust — install attribution, marketing measurement and opening an invite after install, using the IDFA only with your tracking consent. It also receives the push token. adjust.com/terms/privacy-policy
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics & Cloud Messaging) — usage analytics, crash reporting and push notifications. firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Meta (Facebook SDK) — measurement of our ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, active only when we enable it for the app, using the IDFA only with your tracking consent. facebook.com/policy.php
- Telegram — our team's internal alerts about photos awaiting review, which can include the handle, public ID and photo address of the reported profile. telegram.org/privacy
10. Permissions
You can change every choice at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
- Camera — to photograph your catch on the board.
- Photos — to pick a catch photo for your log, and to save a catch card when you ask.
- Notifications — asked after you join or create a crew, for results, someone joining your crew, someone passing you, and disputes.
- Tracking — Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt (see section 8).
FishCrew does not request access to your location, microphone or contacts.
11. Children under 13
FishCrew asks your age group once, in a neutral way. If you say you are under 13:
- All social features are off. There is no profile, handle, crew, invite or League table, and our server refuses those requests. Nobody else can see anything from the account.
- Measuring and the personal log still work. Catch photos are still uploaded, processed by the AI providers and kept in the log as described in section 3, so please have a parent or guardian help. Only the fact that the user said they are under 13 is sent to our server, not the age itself.
- From that answer on, Adjust and Firebase Analytics stay off, and the app never shows the tracking prompt. Crash reports stay on so that we can fix the app, and Apphud stays on because it handles subscriptions.
- The answer sticks. Choosing an older age later doesn't change it. Deleting the account in the app is the way back, for example if an adult tapped the wrong answer. If the account already had a profile, saying under 13 removes the profile and crew seats at once; catches stay in the log.
A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child's data at support@blowy.tech, or do it directly in the app with Delete account (section 15).
12. Blocking, reporting and moderation
- Handles, display names and crew names pass through an automatic filter.
- You can block or report any user; reporting a person also blocks them. Blocking someone who is in a crew you own removes them from it. Two ordinary members who block each other stay in the crew and are hidden from each other.
- You can report a catch photo. It is hidden from you straight away. If two different people report the same photo, it is hidden from everyone except its owner until our team reviews it.
- Profile photos work the same way, and a profile photo still waiting for review after about a week is removed automatically. Our team can also bar an account from uploading profile photos.
- Our team can see reports, and reviews photos hidden in this way. Removing a catch photo deletes the file; the catch itself and its place on the table stay, because a dispute is the tool for a wrong measurement.
13. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your catch photos with advertisers or data brokers. Information is shared only with the service providers named above to the extent needed to run the app, with other people as described in section 5, or where required by law.
14. How long we keep data
- Your catches, catch photos, profile, crews, invites and results are kept while your account exists. There is currently no way to delete a single catch; deleting your account removes them all.
- A catch photo removed after review is deleted at that point.
- Reports and blocks are kept while the accounts involved exist. Records of moderation decisions on photos, the device record and request logs have no fixed deletion date at the moment.
- Data handled by the third-party services above is retained according to their own policies. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you.
15. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes from our server your profile and profile photo, crew seats, invites, catches and catch photos, week results, blocks, reports you sent or that were made about you, and your notification history.
- Other members keep their own places on closed weeks, including the gap where you were. Nobody new is promoted into a closed week.
- If you own a crew, it passes to the longest-standing member. If you were the last member, it is deleted.
- A dispute you opened or decided keeps its outcome, with the link to you removed.
- An App Store subscription stays active until you cancel it in your Apple account.
- What Delete account does not remove: the device record that carries your subscription (section 4), request logs, and records of moderation decisions on photos.
To ask us to remove those too, or if you can't reach the app, write to support@blowy.tech. To remove data held by Apphud, Adjust, Firebase or Meta linked to your device, contact us the same way.
16. Your choices and rights
- Change or revoke camera access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
- Change your tracking choice in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Turn off push notifications in Settings → Notifications.
- Block or report any user or catch photo in the app.
- Depending on your region (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at support@blowy.tech.
17. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit and at rest and limit unnecessary access. No system is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the information involved.
18. International users
Our servers and the third-party services we use may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, such transfers rely on the safeguards described in those providers' privacy policies.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by changing the effective date on this page.
